PURPOSE FOR EVERYTHING |
If the sun didn't rise in the morning and the birds didn't sing in the trees If darkness came like a permanent stain would it bring you to your knees? If the world turned cold and sterile the plants refused to grow; the moon and stars blinked out like candles and the rivers ceased to flow; would you applaud for an encore or would your heart have sunk too low? I'm glad the sun keeps shining and the birds don't forget to sing There's a reason for living and a purpose for everything. Thank God the trees never have to ask the sun if it plans to rise and the moon never wonders if the stars will choose to adorn the endless skies. The plants just keep on growing to fulfill their destiny the rivers keep flowing to the sea; and hearts that fill with wonder as they ponder on these things will know for certain why the birds still sing. I'm glad the sun keeps shining and the birds don't forget to sing I'm glad there's a reason for living and a purpose for everything. -Keith Newman (C) |
