The first New Zealand rugby team to tour overseas played New South Wales in 1884 where they won all 10 of their games. They wore dark blue jerseys and a golden fern leaf on the front. In 1905 this national side went to Great Britain wearing the black uniform and silver fern for the first time. | They became known as the All Blacks and roundly savaged their opponents at every chance winning 34 out of 35 games. |
