”If
you confess (acknowledge / express) with your mouth Jesus is Lord
and believe (have faith, trust and confidence) in your heart that
God raised him from the dead you shall be saved (delivered, protected,
preserved, healed, made whole). For with the heart you believe and are
justified (made righteous or innocent, acquitted and equal) and it
is with your mouth that you confess and are saved,” Romans 10:9-10
”Now when the people heard (how they had helped put Jesus to death
and how he fulfilled the Old Testament scriptures through his life and
resurrection) they were cut (pricked, pierced / agitated) in
their hearts and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers what
shall we do?’ Peter replied repent (have a fundamental childlike
transformation of your mind / change your mind / amend and turnaround)
and be baptised (made fully wet / washed) every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ (the anointed saviour of God) for the
forgiveness (freedom / remission / deliverance / liberty ) of your
sins (offence / crime ancient archery term for missing the mark)
and you shall receive the gift (offering) of the Holy Spirit (
pure breath, breeze, vital principal of the divine presence). This
promise is for you and your children and for all those who are far off –
for all whom the Lord our God will call,” Acts 2:37.

“No
eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind (heart) has conceived what
God has prepared for those who love him,” – 1 Corinthians 2:9 (Isaiah
64:4)
“Your
beauty should not come from outward adornment” (braided hair, fine jewelry or
clothing)..” instead if should be of your inner self (inner
person /the hidden person of the heart)…the unfading beauty of a
gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God’s sight,”
– 1 Peter 3:4.
“Let
us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then
is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at
rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater
than our hearts, and he knows everything,” – 1 John 3:20
“Now
it is God who makes us stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal

1:21-22. |
